Hell
Bent and Heaven Bound
Las Vegas author recounts Near-Death Experiences
(HENDERSON, Nev.) The
popularity of books like Betty J. Eadie’s Embraced by the Light
and Raymond Moody’s Life After Life attests to people’s
fascination with near death experiences. Ever thought about the light at
the end of the tunnel? Questioned the existence of heaven and hell? If
so, Matthew D. Dovel has the answers you are looking for. Whether
skeptical or not, Dovel’s honest examination of his incredible journey
to the brink of both heaven and hell will give readers an unparalleled
perspective into why we are here and what it all means.
Dovel
drowned at the age of 12 and temporarily died. During the time he was
unconscious, he remembers a calming and overwhelming feeling of peace
coming over him. Eventually realizing he was in heaven, Dovel stood in
the presence of Jesus and immediately understood that his work on Earth
was not complete. His abrupt return to Earth caused him to spend his
teenage years filled with angst and disgust over the ugliness in the
world. He soon turned to drugs and alcohol. To spur his reentry into
heaven, Dovel eventually attempted suicide. To his shock, he spent three
days in hell, but returned to tell about the experience. He chronicles
his journey between worlds in his autobiography, My Last Breath.
Currently
Mr. Dovel works in the computer industry, does lectures on suicide
prevention, and as a writer. Mr. Dovel started his quest to become
a suicide prevention expert at the age of twenty-five, shortly after he
had attempted suicide himself. He
is a recovering alcoholic and drug addict who has been working in the
field with alcoholics, drug addicts, and the suicide since 1987.
A word from the
author:
"I haven’t put a drug in my body, or had a drink
of alcohol since May 31, 1987.
What most do not know about passing over to the
other side, and returning, is that there are usually some side
effects? I generally do not talk about them or, I’m vague whenever I
do talk about them, as I get embarrassed if I’m considered different,
“Special”. It has been many years since my deaths, and I know that
these gifts are meant to help others; as a spiritual guide, a healer.
What are my side effects exactly, and how am I
able to help?
Empathic: Empathy is the ability to
"read” and understand people and be in-tune with or resonate with
others, voluntarily or involuntarily of one's empathic capacity.
Empathy often works alongside with telepathy, and this mutually
enhances the strength of these abilities.
Telepathy: This is quite simply
reading the minds of others. This is still under debate on whether the
power even exists. It is more likely psychics are reading other's
emotions rather than their actual thoughts.
Clairaudience: This is also a very
interesting ability. It is that of hearing sounds not audible to other
humans. Psychics say they can either hear people "talking" to them as
if they are standing next to them or in their minds with different
voices.
Clairvoyance: This is the ability
to see what is not physically in front of you - but with your mind's
eye. This is how some psychics see spirits. They are seen either as a
physical body or as a picture.
Precognition: This is knowing about
an event before it took place. Many people have dreams that they later
find have come true. This is likely to happen to most of us - however,
when it happens many times than it becomes more and more impressive.
Remote Viewing: This is the process
of knowing what is happening in another location in the present time -
such as who is there, what they are wearing and what they are saying.
Animals: All animals are drawn to
me. Even the nasty animals that people say don’t like anyone will
want my attention.
Watches, time pieces: After a
couple of days any watch that I wear will quit! This is common with
those that have had a near-death experience.
Children: Children are also
attracted to me like I’m Santa Claus. I don’t ask for their
attention, but they sure want mine!
How’s this all work?
Any motion creates a reaction to the environment
around the object moving. Even when we’re in bed sleeping, the motion
of our breathing, the blood circulating, the electrical impulses from
our head to our toes are causing a change around us. The more intense
our lives are, spiritually, emotionally, or physically the more we
become vulnerable to equally opposing forces which can create
discomfort.
It’s like this; the earth is moving at about one
thousand miles per hour! All this motion is creating friction against
the atmosphere, and this friction is released in various forms like
lighting strikes (about 1,800 per minute around the world). Much like
static electricity created, and released, when a child slides down a
plastic slide in the playground.
Now, humans are constantly creating similar forms
of energy (static), as we experience life. This energy builds up in
various forms like static electrical, psychic, exothermic, and
emotional. This stuff all adds up to energy that’s generally unseen
by most! Most people are exothermic, but as a result of passing over
to the other side, you could say, that I’m now endothermic. I can
see, feel, and hear when any one of these energy forces is spiking in
another person, needing to be discharged. I don’t need to be in the
proximity of someone that is spiking on any one of the energy levels
to know that they are spiking. Sometimes, they come to my mind and I
call them, or they are drawn to me like a moth to a flame.
In any case, I have this gift for sensing
distress in others on many levels. I keep this to myself as it can,
and has in the past quit frankly freaked people out leaving them with
the impression that I’m someone to fear. I’ve been referred to by
people that I’ve helped as an emotional lighting rode, a healer.
I feel most of the time that I’m half here, and
still, half on the other side."
Sincerely,
Matthew Dovel
